     Оксана Лущевська знову за своє! Авторці кількох найкращих українських підліткових книжок («Друзі за листуванням», «Найкращі друзі», «Інший дім») знову і знову вдається вловити підліткові емоції, переживання і думки. Ця книжка, хоча вона й коротка, на рівні з іншими.

   Книги Лущевської завжди комбінують буденне життя підлітків (саме по собі повне проблем) та серйозні дилеми. У «Вітрі з-під сонця» в Женьки помер тато, але вони з мамою все одно приїжджають на море – так, як робили це раніше щоліта. Там хлопець зустрічає дівчину, яку бачив минулого літа. І Женька, і Рися хочуть цієї зустрічі, але стається вона майже випадково. Із підлітками так часто буває. Вони чогось хочуть, але не наважуються попросити.

     Цікаво мені, звідки Оксана Лущевська все це знає? Може, в неї є шпигуни? J Я? Ні, ні!! Ви що? Хоча… Це було б честю для мене – допомогти цій чудовій авторці. Мені було б дуже приємно.

     Хотілося б іще поговорити про назву. Вітер – це вітер змін. А чому з-під сонця? Бо цей вітер приносить зміни на краще. Можливо, вони замасковані й спочатку такими не здаються. Наприклад, для мами Вадим спочатку здався чимось недобрим. Вона не хотіла йти далі, але потім зрозуміла, що він може допомогти.

     Ще ця книга наштовхує на роздуми: як би я поводилася, що б зі мною було, якби я втратила когось близького?

Після прочитання книжки я почуваюся так, ніби знаю Женьку й Рисю. Але провела з ними дуже мало часу. Хотілося б більше…

I liked this book, mostly because it happens in the future (I love books about the future). That's also why I said fantasy, not because there is time traveling or aliens. However, there are hover boards, and everybody gets one. The most interesting part was how it happened in the future and all of the little interesting details the author used to tell us that and things that they had, that we don't. They also referred to us as "rusties", because we used a lot of metal in our buildings. I think that it would be very interesting to live in the future, whether the future looked like this or something different (I'm betting on the hover boards, though). I would recommend this to anyone who likes reading about the future, and there is also some mystery and suspense in this book because Tally is uncovering the truth about her city. I like Tally and can relate to her because she likes sneaking out, solving problems and (usually) gets out of scrapes. I think the author those this title because the people in the cities are referred to as "uglies" before they turn sixteen and get the operation ( and turn to "pretties"). The cover is Tally peeking out behind a leaf. I think this might be either because she doesn't wan't to show her whole so-called ugly face, or because she's exploring and hiding. Contrast and Contradiction: "Go! Get your ugly face away from here!" (Tally's is acting differently, and rudely because she's mad at David and doesn't wan't to see him.)

I liked this book and how there was magic incorporated in a seemingly ordinary life (except for the gnomes and orges). I also liked how the main character, Aza, went from a simple inn setting to a castle and learned to carry herself grandly. It was interesting to see how her whole demeanor changed as she went from a simple innkeeper's daughter (and maid) to a lady-in-waiting to the new queen. It was also very interesting when Aza, the prince and the other royals played the game in which they where given a book, the skimmed the context and then had to sing a song. The more your audience laughed, the better you did. And, of course, how well you sang also counted. Playing that game would have been fun. Visiting the magical kingdom of Ayortha, where they hold "sings" for all important events and everyone has to write their own song and then sing it, would be rather interesting and fun, but I'm not sure if I would like to live there. Better one of their neighboring kingdoms, like Kioria, where they dance all the time. I recommend this book to people who like books with magic items and a little but of mystery. I think my friend Chloe would like it because she enjoys a lot of the same books I do. I like the character Aza, because she has a pretty voice and a magical ability to make it sound like her voice is coming out of different places, but I can only relate to her in the fact that she gets out of problems well. I think the author choose this title because in Ayortha it matters for pretty you are and how well you can sing and in this book, Aza wasn't very pretty, but she could sing well, and the queen couldn't sing well, nor was she that pretty (without her magic potion). I also think that it has a hidden meaning about who's heart was kinder, making them the fairest. The cover shows Aza hiding her face, like it ofetn says she does in the book. But if you read the book, you can see that she is using the magic mirror (so it makes you think, is that her after beauty potion state, or before beauty potion state?). Realization: " The queen only made her lady-in-waiting for her voice."

Марта з вулиці Святого Миколая

 

З того, що мені сказала мама, мені здалося, що ця книжка буде глибока. Не просто глибока, а що там буде якась велика трагедія.

Наприклад, у «140 децибелів тиші» Андрія Бачинського у хлопця померли батьки, і після аварії він втратив слух і мову – одним словом, уже спочатку зрозуміло, що йтиметься про дуже серйозні проблеми.

Я чекала такого самого від «Марти…». Мушу сказати, мені навіть сподобалося, що книжка не була тим, що я очікувала. Я була приємно здивована.

Мені сподобалося й те, що у Марти була «криза». Вона обманювала, дратувалася, а потім була розчарована в собі. Ще вона не могла малювати. Це показує, що стосунки з друзями і родиною сильно впливають на те, як ти висловлюєш свою думку. Особливо творчу думку (малювати, писати, співати…).

Ще мені здалося цікавим те, що книжка описує той період часу, коли Марта емоційно дорослішає. Це дає читачам змогу порівнювати себе з нею і показує, що вони не одні такі.

Загалом, мені ця книжка здалася особливою в найкращому розумінні цього слова. Нібито описуються буденні події, але говориться не тільки про верхній шар, а глибше. Можливо, тому що Марта – художниця. А можливо, тому що в неї дорослі друзі. Якщо в тебе дорослі друзі, ти і сам стаєш дорослішим.

«Марта з вулиці Святого Миколая» явно піде на мою поличку улюблених книжок.

Єдине, що мені не сподобалося, це те, що близько кінця Марта сказала: «Те, що це був чоловік, а не жінка, зрозуміло. Не знаю, чи є хоч одна настільна гра, яку придумала б жінка». Ці слова мене обурили і дещо розчарували. Особливо враховуючи те, що автор книжки – жінка. Пошукавши в інтернеті, я виявила, що все ж є ігри, створені жінками. По-перше, Елізабет Меґі створила гру «Землевласник», на основі якої потім випустили усім відому «Монополію». Вона також створила кілька інших настільних ігор. Про інших жінок-творців ігор можна почитати ось тут. Хоча мушу визнати, що часто жінки є не винахідниками гри, а дизайнерами або співтворцями (разом зі своїми чоловіками).

Дуже раджу «Марту з вулиці Святого Миколая» та іншу книжку Дзвінки Матіяш – «День сніговика».

«Різдвяна історія»

 

Не всі люблять класику. І часом люди мають різні уявлення щодо цього поняття. Зараховують різні книжки у шанобливі списки класики. Та є певні твори, щодо яких немає сумнівів. Один із них – «Різдвяна історія» Діккенса.

Ця повість може подобатися багато кому, але з різних причин. Мені вона подобається тому, що завдяки Привидам Скрудж змінив свої звички і став кращою людиною.

Мені здається, що всі три Привиди однаково вплинули на Ебенезера Скруджа. Ви можете думати, що саме третій Привид змінив його найбільше, але особисто я вважаю, що до приходу третього Привида Скрудж уже почав переглядати свої погляди на життя.

Він побачив своє минуле і те, що у минулому він залежав від інших людей. Якби ті люди були такими скнарами, як він тепер, то Скрудж так багато в житті не досягнув би.

Він побачив, що люди були добрі і щедрі. Ще він отримав нагадування, що саме через надмірну любов до грошей його колись покинула кохана. І він побачив, яка вона зараз щаслива. Без нього. Він зрозумів, що гроші зруйнували те життя, яке в нього могло бути.

З другим Привидом Скрудж бачить сім’ю свого клерка Боба Кретчита. Він бачить, що мізерна зарплата, яку той отримує, це явно недостатньо, щоб прогодувати велику сім’ю Кретчитів. Скрудж поступово розуміє, що його вчинки шкодять іншим.

Ще з Привидом теперішнього Різдва Скрудж бачить вечірку свого племінника, на яку він відмовився піти. Він бачить, як там весело. І в племінника, і в Боба негативно говорять про старого Скруджа. Він вирішує це змінити.

Він хоче виправити свої помилки, ті негаразди, які він бачив у майбутньому. Він стає піднесеним, радісним, добрим, щедрим, хоче робити добро і ділитися своїм багатством з іншими. Скрудж дивує людей своєю поведінкою, бо ж вона була дуже незвичайною, дуже дивною, як на нього. Він посилає Бобові Кретчиту велику гарну індичку, бо ж знає, що це його вина, що сім’я Кретчитів бідує і недоїдає. А ще він підвищує Бобові зарплату – з тої самої причини.

Ця історія показує нам, що ніколи не пізно виправити свої помилки, треба лиш дуже сильно цього захотіти. І ще нагадує, що треба робити іншим добро. Не лише на Різдво. Щодня, коли є така можливість.

One of the best I have read
You would like this book if you like Suspense

Review:

I thought that this book was really good. The author developed the story really well, with flashbacks into her past, and until the end we couldn't be sure wether she would decide to leave this world or stay here. Most interesting was how she could see everything that was going on, even though she was in a coma. It was almost like she was a ghost except she wasn't dead. That was really cool. They went to Portland and Seattle in the book, and that would have been an amazing experience (because I want to live in Seattle). I recommend this book to people who like realistic fiction about cancer or tragedies. I also recommend it to people who like not knowing how the book will end. The character that I really liked and could relate to was Mia's best friend, Kim because she was an amazing friend and always supported Mia and because she liked photography. I think the author choose this title because Mia was speculating whether to go or to stay, and what would happen. Since she didn't really know what would happen is she choose to move on, she mostly thought about what life would be like without some of the people that she loved. I do like the cover that is just Mia's face, but I like the one that is flashes of different moments of her life even better. It if kind of like the flashes that the author gives in the book. Tough questions: "How can I stay without mom, or dad, or Teddy? Yet, how can I go?" Realization: "Teddy's gone."
