You would like this book if you like Magic

Review: (By the way, this review will be on all 7 books, not just the first one.) I thought that the series was amazing. The author used incredible details and descriptions, and she definitely developed the characters well. I think that this story will live on for generations to come. My favorite parts were the ones where Harry, Ron and Hermione were living a normal life at Hogwarts, not off being heroes. Also, "Harry Potter" is one of the biggest fandoms in the world, with clothes, blankets, stickers, jewelry and more coming out "Harry Potter themed". There are also many pages on social media sites and quizzes like " Which house are you in?". It was very interesting to enter that world after I read the books. To be in this world of magic would have been amazing, and I still wish that it would be possible today. Alas, it is not. I recommend this series to everybody in the world, young or old, and may the magic never leave you. The character that I can relate most with is Hermione. She is very smart, does well in school and always has her work done on time. She is always using her wits to pull Ron and Harry out of sticky situations. If there was magic in this world, I would be like that too. I thnk the author chose these title because each one has the name of the main character, Harry Potter and the event that happens to him and his friends in the book. They are good titles. There are many different covers for the books, but they all have something in common: magic. Whether it's Harry flying on a broom or a phoenix, it's something you most likely wouldn't see in real life. The covers are all fabulous. Read these books if you like magic, monsters and friendships. Go Hogwarts! Go Ravenclaw, Slytherin and Gryffindor(and Hufflepuff)!

Я тепер і українською деякі блоги буду писати, використовуючи шкільний питальник. 

Щоб було легше зрозуміти зміст, ось питання:

1.  Що ви думаєте про книгу?

2.  Яка найцікавіша частина(и) у книжці?

3.  Чи хотіли б ви бути героєм цієї книжки?

4.  Кому б ви рекомендували книжку?

5.  Який персонаж вам подобається/з ким ви себе асоціюєте?

6.  Як ви думаєте, чому автор вибрав саме цю назву?

7.  Чи подобається вам обкладинка?

    На мою думку, ця книжка дуже гарно написана і дуже глибока. Вона точно і правильно розповідає, як це було б, якби хтось втратив слух, здатність говорити і сім’ю одночасно.

Деякі найцікавіші моменти: коли Сергій подружився з Яринкою; коли Сергій грав на фортепіано посеред вулиці, і його почув професор. Ще мені сподобалося, що Сергій був такий відданий Яринці, що утік із інтернату, щоб її знайти і врятувати.

    Я б не дуже хотіла бути на місці Сергія в цій історії, враховуючи те, що він втратив слух, не міг говорити, і його сім’я загинула. Але його світ такий самий, як і наш… Хоча… навпаки. Наш світ (мій та ваш) зовсім не схожий на Сергіїв. На перший погляд, вони схожі, чи навіть однакові. Та якщо подумати про це трохи більше, то розумієш, що насправді світ Сергія – це інтернат. Це той світ, до якого він звикає після того, як поїзд змінює його життя. До аварії світи все ж більше схожі, хоча Сергій та його батьки – музиканти. Музика – це свій (своєрідний) світ. Коли ти граєш, ти переносишся в еру, місце появи мелодії. Ти переносишся в час, коли композитор написав музику. Ти відчуваєш радості та печалі мелодії та композитора, які передає інструмент. Коли ти граєш, ти стаєш одним цілим зі своїм інструментом. (Якщо ви займаєтеся музикою, то вам, мабуть, знайомі ці відчуття.) Так що ні до, ні після аварії Сергій не жив у тому світі, що й ми. Але саме тому, що Сергій жив у світі музики, йому було так важко після аварії, бо ж він втратив не тільки здатність чути й говорити, а й найважливіші часточки свого світу: сім’ю та музику.

    Я б порадила «140 децибелів тиші» тим, хто любить читати глибокі книжки або вважає, що він не такий, як інші.

    Мені сподобався професор, бо навіть тоді, коли Сергій украв у нього гроші і втік, той зрозумів, що у нього була на те причина, і далі пробував допомогти хлопцеві. Професор відчував, що Сергій не взяв гроші просто так і не взяв би, якби вони не були йому дуже потрібні. Професор, хоч і не знав Сергія довго, все ж розумів, що цей хлопець не така людина, що зловживає гостинністю і краде гроші. Сергій просто дуже хотів врятувати Яринку.

Мені здається, що автор так назвав книжку, бо гучність свистка потяга досягала 140 децибелів, тому «140 децибелів». Після аварії Сергій оглух, тому «тиші».

    Обкладинка ніби промовляє: Сергій затуляє вуха, і це символізує багато чого. Уже тільки з обкладинки і назви можна здогадатися про зміст книги.

Review: Its a really good book with plot twists and turns. I think that the story is really good and really well developed. The most interesting is how the characters took a road trip based on clues. I would really have liked to be in the story with the characters or visit the places where they went. I really like Margo because she is mysterious, likes sneaking off and running away and is well liked by the people at school, although she doesn't necessarily like them or trust them. "Paper towns" is mentioned a few times in the story, under different circumstances. One is when Margo says that everything in their town is made made of paper, isn't real. "Paper houses, paper people. It's a paper town." And when Quentin is looking for Margo he looks in towns that were suppose to be build, but never were, "paper towns". There are also more things in the book that imply that "Paper Towns", is a really good title. There are several different covers, one where there's a thumb tack in a map, like in the book, and one where Margo and Quentin are standing side by side and her hair is blowing in his face. And one where there is a city made of paper just standing there (once again implying that it's a "paper town". I like all of them. Overall the book the is very good and the author is an amazing one, and I very much recommend this book to almost anyone. 
"For some people, those strings just snap." Quentin doesn't want Margo to be one of those people (aha moment).

Review: It's very interesting and funny. I felt sorry for the main character, Holly, because her mom kept moving the whole family across the country every time she broke up with a new boyfriend. The most interesting part was how Holly tried to make an illusion of a "perfect man" for her mom so that her mom doesn't move again because she finally has a permanent life. She gives her mom flowers and writes her e-mails. All from her "perfect man". But when it's time for the perfect man to show his face, what will Holly do? In the book, Holly, her mom and her sister travel all around the country and never stop in one place for long. I would not like that. I like the character Holly and I can relate to her because she tires to play matchmaker and she has many unique ideas. You would like this book if you like realistic books and romance. (And even thought I usually don't like romance this book was interesting.) I think the author choose this title because Jean, Holly's mom is forever on the lookout for a perfect man. Also because Holly makes the pretend idea of the perfect man to make her mom happy and then later he actually appears. The cover depicts Jean, Holly, and Holly's sister, Zoë laying in a circle with their hair entangled. It shows how they are alike but different. I like the cover, but a good idea for the cover would have been the picture of Ben that Holly took, and in the background, the ideas that Ben gave her, like roses, happy music, and orchids, and the things that Ben and Jean have in common, like the moon, crossword puzzles and cooking. That would have been a really cool cover. There is also a movie about this book.

Review: This book was one of the best that I have ever read. It is very sad, but amazing through the sadness. The relationship that Hazel and Gus share in this book is really deep and it is amazing that they have a bond like that. What was most interesting is how Gus worries whenever something happens to Hazel, even though he might not be in perfect condition himself, and she does the same for him, even thought she has lung cancer and is still sick. How they care about each other is amazing. In the book, near the end, Hazel and Gus travel to Amsterdam. I would really love to travel to Amsterdam, and the detailed descriptions of some of the places/ things (like the Anne Frank house) made me want to go the even more. I'm not really sure if I can relate to any of the characters too much, because both Hazel and Gus have cancer, and Isaac is blind. But I can relate to both Hazel and Gus because they care for each other and other people deeply even thought their sickness is in the way. I have noticed (through books and life) how people/ characters who were in the hospital for a long time or suffered from a disease have a different way of thinking. They think deeper than some people do. I think that even though I haven't really been through a life-changing event, I can see the world that way too ( some people are just born that way!). Like one of the quotes from the book "Some infinities are bigger then other infinities.", some people have the ability to reach deeper. I would recommend the book to anyone who is okay with books not having happy endings. This book is really good. I think my friend Chloe would also like it because it talks about the Anne Frank house and Amsterdam and me and her have talked about going to Europe. The title of this book is "The Fault In Our Stars" and at the part when Augustus dies, Hazel is thinking about the universe and how the stars did not go well for Hazel and Gus, and so the book is called that. Also, earlier, Gus says "You gave me forever within a number of limited days. And I'm grateful for that." You can tell that the book will not have a "happy ending". And that's when Hazel (and me) realize that " You don't get to choose if you get hurt in this world, but you do have some say in who hurts you." ( sad, right? But also true...) There are two covers for this book. One depicts Hazel and Gus laying face to face in the grass, which I like but it makes you think that the end will be happy, while it's not. The other just has the title and author's name in black letter's in white cloud-like shapes with a blue background and quotes from the book. I like both covers, but the second one, a little more.

A tough question I found in this book is when Hazel says "I'm a grenade and at some point I'm going to blow and I would like to minimize the casualties, okay?" to Gus, and she's trying to distance herself from him even though he loves her and she loves him.

For those of you who have been waiting for English publications, here they are. And there will be more coming. This is the rubric that we use for our school project (kind of like last year, except for that each one is separate, not by chapters.) I hope that you will enjoy this format.

You would like this book if you like Stories about Friendships

Review: This book reminds us that it's not what's on the outside that matters, it's what's on the inside. Most interesting was how, in the school that August (Auggie) went to, there were some people that seemed to remember that. They didn't care what Auggie looked like, even thought he was born with a born defect, and they realized that it wasn't his fault and he just couldn't change it. And then there were some people who seemed to think that it was Auggie's fault that he looked like this. And that was sad. I would have liked to visit this school because if I would have gone to their school, I would have supported August. I recommend this book to anyone, but especially people going to a new school or people who are made fun of for what they look like. I liked and related with the character Summer because she was smart and nice and she sat and talked with August although the principal hadn't asked her to. She was just one of those people who have a heart made of gold (not saying I'm like that, I just admire that...). I think the author choose this title because August isn't like other people (especially at his school(except for Summer)). The author also says that the title was inspired by Natalie Merchant's song, Wonder. I like the cover because it just shows us that it's about a boy with birth defects. Also, the background color is pretty.

Це одна з моїх улюблених книжок, хоч і прочитана недавно. Вона здалася мені теплою, чистою, глибокою. Прекрасною. Такі слова, як «гарно» чи «цікаво», недостатньо описують цю книжку. Вона гарна і чудова – так, але це нічого не пояснює, бо вона про людські емоції й почуття.

Цим вона мені нагадує дві інші книжки, які можна знайти на поличці улюблених (Наталко Малетич, ваша книжка також уже стоїть там, як Ви й хотіли. ;) Вона того варта.). Це «Мені не потрапити до Книги рекордів Гіннеса» Оксани Лущевської та «Новенька та інші історії» Оксани Сайко. Усі три книжки дуже глибокі, складаються з коротких історій. У всіх ідеться про стосунки хлопців і дівчат і не тільки. Усі три авторки мають свій власний стиль.

Спочатку я не зрозуміла назву книги. І ви теж, мабуть, зараз не розумієте. Для того, щоб її зрозуміти, треба прочитати, особливо – останнє оповідання.

Лесі не подобається, як виглядають її вуха, коли в неї зібране волосся. Потім вона знаходить «Щоденник Ельфа». Це щоденник її старшої сестри Анни, яка померла від раку. Леся дізнається, що в сестри були такі самі вуха, як у неї, і що Анна її назвала. Леся тепер розуміє, що їй бракує старшої сестри. Вона, звичайно ж, зрозуміла б, як Леся ненавидить робити хвостик на фізкультуру.

Це лише одне оповідання, а їх – добрих, веселих, глибоких – у цій книжці багато. Авторка точно описує переживання й думки дівчат-підлітків щодо хлопців, друзів, одягу й того, як їх сприймають інші. Є історії й від імені хлопців. Та я на цьому не знаюся. :)

Одне з моїх улюблених оповідань – про дівчинку Діану, яка хоче сестричку. Ви, мабуть, подумали, що вона хоче меншу сестричку, але ні, вона хоче, щоб батьки всиновили її подружку Оксану, яка живе в інтернаті. Батьки погоджуються.

А далі – історія про те, як Оксанка пристосовується до нового життя. Мені дуже сподобалося, що є дві історії зі спільними героями, але оповідачі різні: Діана й Оксана.

«Щоденник Ельфа» мене розчулив. Книжка чудова й заслуговує на почесне місце на моїй поличці улюблених книжок. Дякую, Наталко Малетич, за таку гарну книгу!

Полювання на кенгуру

«Томек у країні кенгуру»

Якщо ви любите мандрувати і читати про далекі краї, то дуже раджу вам цю серію – про підлітка Томека, який плаває в різні країни зі своїми друзями. Мандрувати ви будете в книзі, але разом із Томеком це буде ніби по-справжньому.

Мама Томека померла, а тато був змушений втекти з країни за участь у змові проти царя, тож він живе з тіткою і дядьком. І от якось до нього, чи, мабуть, краще сказати, по нього приходить давній татів друг, від якого аж пахне пригодами, і пропонує їхати з ним. І головне, що вирішуватимуть цього разу не тітка з дядьком, а сам Томек. Він погоджується. І пан Смуґа везе його до батька. А потім – в Австралію, ловити кенгуру. Чому? Зараз розкажу.

Коли тато Томека виїхав із Польщі, він трохи мандрував, а потім зустрів працівника фірми, яка постачає тварин у зоопарки і цирки, і став там працювати. Тепер він їде в експедицію в Австралію і хоче взяти свого сина з собою.

Томек дуже радий зустрічі з татом і з нетерпінням чекає австралійського полювання. Та дорога туди не обходиться без пригод. Томек учиться стріляти і хоче потренуватися, тож іде в тир. Там він знаходить беззбройного пана Смуґу і тигра. Коли настає час, Томек поцілює тигрові прямо межи очі, хоча потім зізнається, що, якби пан Смуґа не казав йому, що робити, то йому було б непереливки.

Усі пишаються Томеком, особливо його батько. Потім вони припливають в Австралію, сідають на поїзд і їдуть залучати тубільців для ловів, бо для того, щоб зловити ему і деяких швидких кенгуру, потрібно багато людей. Тубільці – це загроза, та Томек несе їм трохи їжі, снідає разом з ними та розважає їх стрільбою зі штуцера. Тоді вони всі разом їдуть до селища тубільців і ті погоджуються допомагати їм.

Для полювання вони розділяються на три групи, та коли вирушають, виявляється, що кенгуру трохи посунулись і їх буде важче зловити, тому звіролов відправляє Томека до групи загоничів. Хлопець дивується й трохи ображається, бо не хоче проґавити полювання. Але йому пояснюють, що це тому, що він дуже вправний стрілець. Полювання проходить вдало.

Такі та інші пригоди трапляються з Томеком та його друзями в Австралії. Ще він познайомився з дівчинкою Саллі, яка буде йому вірним другом і з якою він листуватиметься протягом інших експедицій.
